Why 8 is more super than 6

Last weekend on a road trip around Bakersfield, we had the rare privilege to do a night-by-night test of Super 8 and Motel 6.

After this experience, we're now Super 8 loyalists and will drive the extra miles to make sure we get the comfort on a long road trip.

• Super 8 gives you shampoo
• Super 8 feeds you breakfast in the morning - donuts, bagels or english muffins with cream cheese, fruit, and fresh-squeezed orange juice
• Super 8 gives you 4 cups instead of 2
• Super 8 towels are 4 inches longer (but really, it's time for all these motels to get towels better than I had in junior high gym)
• Super 8 has fantastic water pressure (Motel 6 was a trickle)

Both nights cost us a grand total of $80.
